Reasons to Choose WordPress
If you are looking for a great blogging platform for business or personal reasons WordPress is a great choice as it is versatile and user friendly. Wordpress is easy to use, provides a variety of ways to go about customization and offers excellent support to bloggers. I think this is the best choice out there if you want a customized blog that has the ability to function exactly like you want it to. I also think it is the stand out choice if you want to brand yourself and represent yourself professionally. There are lots of available blogging programs and some may be better known and offer slightly different features but if you want control of your blog and no risk of losing it I think WordPress is the clear choice. So with all the platforms out there why would you choose a self hosted WordPress Blog? Let’s explore the reasons you would want to go this route.
Because you host it yourself you are in control of your blog and the content. If you chose to blog with a company that hosts it for you, you are at risk of losing it if you violate their policies or they shut down their services. It would be a huge loss to lose all of your work and content if the blogging platform you chose shut you down.
Using WordPress.org you have the ability to make money from your blog. Some of the other blogging platforms do not allow affiliate marketing. So if you want to use Adsense, Clickbank or other affiliate marketing WordPress.org is the way to go.
WordPress has hundreds and hundreds of free themes so you can really customize you blog to give it the look and feel that you want.
There are tons of free plugins and widgets that will help you get your blog to function exactly as you want it to.
Once you learn WordPress it is very easy to use.
WordPress has great support. Anytime I have ever been stuck I have found answers to my questions on th WordPress site or forum.
If you want to get started with WordPress but do not know how to do it I have put together a step by step training on how to set up a WordPress blog or website. Here is the list of training so you can check out one or all of them.

Hi Angela,
I agree with you! I also believe that self-hosted wordpress blogs are the way to go. When managing our online reputations, the production of good, quality, positive content about ourselves is critical. And Google loves self-hosted wordpress blogs so it makes sense to use one as our main hub. I hope everyone takes your advice and decides to control their online content. Have a POWERFUL week, Allegra
