How a Positive Attitude Can Transform Your Network Marketing Business
Network Marketing is a business that is not always easy but with anything less than a positive attitude it can be downright impossible. Thoughts manifest into what becomes reality in our lives so if we fill our mind with negatives rather than positives we are setting ourselves up to fail.
When you see successful people in Network Marketing are you negative and think that you could never achieve their level of success? Like Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!” So if you are negative and think you can’t achieve something you are right, you won’t. Why go after it if you view it as impossible and out of your reach or skill level? On the other hand if you approach things with a positive attitude knowing you can do it, your chances for success are infinitely better. If your attitude is positive, you will not let anything stand in your way, you will work as hard as you can to achieve things, and you will learn everything you need to know.
I started out on the wrong foot with a negative attitude when I got started with Network Marketing. I just felt I could never measure up to the big guns in the Network Marketing world. The people I looked up to seemed to have so much more knowledge and skills than I did, it seemed overwhelming. I had a major shift in my attitude when I read the book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I realized I was limiting myself with negative attitudes and it was holding me back from all I could achieve. I was in control of my thoughts and attitude and I was the one holding myself back from success. When I read Hill’s book I realized I could take control of my attitudes and set the tone for my business and my life. I have quickly changed my thinking and attitudes to being positive, I have rolled up my sleeves and gotten to work. Any negative thoughts I have now are quickly ushered out of my brain and I force myself to shift my thoughts.
You can easily do this too. Anyone can change their attitude and set themselves up for success. This works in anything in life, not just network marketing.
So what are some ways to keep a positive attitude that will drive you forward to success in network marketing or anything in life for that matter?
Stop yourself in your tracks when you start having negative thoughts or attitudes- When you realize you are being negative stop yourself immediately. Try to figure out how you can look at or deal with the situation differently. How can you get a different perspective or turn your thinking around? Ask yourself questions when you have a negative attitude. For example if you are thinking you could never achieve the success someone in your upline has, stop yourself. Ask yourself, “What can I do or learn to have the success that person has.”
Work on making a positive attitude a habit- It might take a while to shift your thinking and turn your attitudes around. Work consistently to do small things with a good attitude. As this becomes habit and becomes engrained in how you operate it will start to seep into the bigger areas of your life.
Surround yourself with positive people and things- It is hard to keep a good attitude when we are surrounded by negatives. Work on feeding your mind positive things. Read positive books and surround yourself with positive people.
As Winston Churchill says, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” If you can learn to focus on having in a positive attitude it can benefit you greatly and transform your business and life.

Until I read your post, I never quite thought about why people get into Network Marketing with negative attitudes ~ and now that I have, it does make sense (not that they get into it with those attitudes, just that unfortunately, so many do). I luv that quote from Henry Ford…it’s so true! Like you, I have found much wisdom and enrichment from Think & Grow Rich, and cannot imagine where I’d be without having read such books. Hey Angela, great post. I so agree that a positive attitude makes all the difference. I have used this approach many times in my life to survive difficult times. Over the years I have learned that there are 2 things that help me keep a positive outlook. First, if I am negative about anything, I force myself to find at least 3 good things. This helps me look at the issue more objectively and oftentimes it is enough to overcome my negative outlook. But sometimes I am so overwhelmed that this does not help. In that case I try to break down the issue in smaller pieces. I keep going smaller as long as I need to. Than I determine for every mini step if that is what causing my negative feelings. This way I can solve my issues and turn the task at hand into a positive one again.

Thanks for sharing this Angela. Don’t get on the mopey bus. That is the short bus of emotional elementary school. Having a very clear vision of where you want to go is very essential to staying on track with this. If you don’t have this as a guideline how can you keep not only your actions in line but your emotions. I have found that my downs have been less severe with this vision statement in hand.

I have been surrounding myself with positive people, CD’s, tapes, blog posts (many from TSA), and watching uplifting videos. The goal is to continually feed my mind with the message “You CAN do it,” whatever it is I want and intend to do. And then I am allowing it all to unfold right in front of my eyes. The steps seem easier, the connections just flowing, almost like walking on air. And to think, at the beginning it felt like an overwhelming struggle, an uphill battle. I’m talking about my building an online presence and online business.
