There are at least 3 keys to success online and in planning your work on the internet. These 3 steps can be applied to just about any plan, and when coupled with the right amount of determination and perseverance, will result in success! But remember, you must persevere through the dry spells and difficult times. Everyone has hard times and this is just a fact of life. The key is to keep working toward your goal and never give up.
Keys to success online-Action
One of the biggest keys to success online is taking action. One of my favorite quotes by Chris Widener says it best, “your short term actions multiplied by time equals your long term accomplishments.” Everything you do either takes you closer to, or farther away from your desired result. Consistent action in the right direction will produce results. It is the law of sowing and reaping. You reap what you sow. In other words, you get what you deserve not what you need. Plant enough seeds and you will find growth. Ask enough people and someone will join or buy what you are offering. Never leave the sight of a goal without taking action. Plain and simple, consistent action is one of the keys to success online.
Keys to Success Online-Discipline
This one is not just one of the keys to success online, it is one of the biggest keys to success in anything you want to accomplish in life. Discipline is what you need to get you to where you want to go. If you want to lose weight you need to be disciplined in how you eat and in your fitness, if you want to be good in a sport you need to be disciplined and practice, if you want to find success online it is no different, you need to be disciplined. Success online does not just happen overnight contrary to what some people lead you to believe. It takes hard work and dedication. You can’t build any sort of business or presence online by doing it inconsistently.
Keys to Success Online-Risk Taking
Of the 3 biggest keys to success online this one is the hardest, you have to be being willing to take risks and even be willing to fail. Failure can actually be a good thing because failure is one of our greatest teachers. Some of us never even get started because we’re so afraid we might fail. We’re afraid to even try to make our dreams a reality. It seems safer to stay in our unhappy circumstances, because even though we aren’t satisfied, at least they are familiar and comfortable. The unknown is scary. But if we don’t try, we’ll miss out on the chance to make our lives better. Progress and advancement in life is not gained by sitting meekly on the sidelines; we need to actually get in the game and start playing! The only true failures in life occur when we give up or don’t try at all.
If you are looking to become successful online it is within your grasp you just need to be willing to take action, be disciplined and be willing to take risks. While these are 3 of the biggest things that I think are keys to success online there are a whole lot of other things that will contribute to your success. I would love for you to share other things you have found to help you become successful online. Leave a comment below and share your thoughts.

Great article and advice Angela! It never ceases to amaze me how many articles I come across with “expert” advice on how to succeed and yet the word “action” is never even mentioned!. You can have the greatest plan and goals in the world, but if you don’t get thou self moving then you can forget it.

You definitely have to put your nose to the grindstone and take risks if you want to be successful online. Taking shortcuts only makes for less success and possibly a set up to major failure later on. There are so many people wanting to attain their success as quickly as possible, but in the end, they end up being like those one-hit wonders.

Hey Angela,
These are great tips for success on line. I would add with taking risks that until you are seasoned to limit your spending or you can end up dissilusioned and broke before you get started.
I find testing the waters in a small way with each new idea and then taking massive action on the ones that provide results is the way to go. That way you can keep going until you hit the jackpot!

I enjoyed this post! One must first have a goal, be self disiplined, and take action as you explained above. But most importantly, I like the way you explained risk taking. One must be willing to step out of their box in order to be successful. There are so many aspects to owning your own business. The things you do well are fine, but we must keep in mind things that are challenging to us and work on them. Great Advice!

These are some FABULOUS keys to success online! I love Chris Widener’s quote!
I really couldn’t add anything to what you said about these 3 keys. I think that Fear and failure to take Action are are the biggest reasons that people aren’t successful in their online endeavors.
My husband and I were just talking about failure the other day, and how Harland Sanders went to 1000 restaurants to sell his chicken recipe! The 1000th Restaurant bought his recipe and Kentucky Fried Chicken was born.
Now that’s persistence! I haven’t read a single story of a successful business person who got it right the first time, or the second, or the third time! Yet fear of failure prevents so many from ever achieving their dreams!

Hi Angela,
I agree with all three of your points and for me, stepping out of my comfort zone has been a biggie. Video is so powerful and I’ve always had a difficult time with being on “that” side of the camera. Working past that fear has made a huge difference in my online business.
For me, attacking my fears head on, consistency, and seeing small achievements lead to larger and larger accomplishments is what keeps me going.
Thanks for the great post!

Thanks Angela for sharing this great info. Since I easily get sidetracked from all the information available on the net, I have found having a Daily Routine list to keep me on track of my most productive activities.
