3 Easy Duplicatable Steps To Rock Your Business

When I first got started online I had no clue how to market my business and did all the things you really

are not supposed to do to build a business, at least the kind of business I was dreaming of having.

I was in the large percentage of home business owners that make the mistake of throwing

a deal at the wall to see what sticks, so to speak, instead of investing time honing in on a target market.

When it comes to connecting with your prospects, there’s nothing more important than knowing

exactly WHAT words to say and WHO to say them to.  When you learn this that is when the magic 

happens.  So here are the 3 duplicatable steps I used to rock my business and to sell 5 figures worth of

products month over month. The photo below is from my best 5 figure month so far.

Step 1:  I learned about my Target Market

To begin with I got very specific about who my audience was by creating a “Customer Avatar.” If you haven’t created your Customer Avatar yet or you don’t even know what a Customer Avatar is then… Start by asking yourself a few questions:

  • What is your product?
  • Who would buy your product?
  • Are they male or female?
  • What is their age?
  • Do they work?
  • What magazines, blogs, books do they read?
  • What TV shows do they watch?
  • Who do they follow to get advice, inspiration or motivation?

Once you’ve determined who your customer avatar is you’ll know who you should attract on Facebook. The amazing thing about Facebook is you can get very specific when targeting your market. I was able to target a specific group of people who I knew already bought and paid for products like mine. You can also retarget people who have already shown an interest in what you have to offer.

Step 2. I Advertised on Facebook and then scaled up

Once I knew who my customers were and I knew I had a responsive audience on my fan page I started running ads.  I focused on selling my product to people I knew loved similar products to what I sell and had already bought.  I also created a custom audience of all the people that clicked on my content and watched my videos… And then I “retarget” them. When I found what worked I simply scaled up. If you gave Facebook a dollar and got $1.18 in return… …you’d give Facebook as many dollars as possible, right? This is what we call “scaling.”

Step 3. I Solved my Customers Problems

People always want to know “what’s in if for me.”   I just took what I knew were pain points for my customer avatar and solved their problem with my product. I then put up an ad to those people I knew would be interested, found what worked and then scaled up. Think of it this way in your own business… People don’t care about the thread count of their covers: they just want softer sheets. People don’t need to know about the chemical composition of their painkillers: they just want their headache to go away as quickly as possible. In short, it’s not about what you’re selling, but rather the result.  The want thier problems solved. In other words, “what’s in it for me?” Now, come up with a comprehensive list of the their…

  • Dreams, goals and desires (for example: making money, retiring at 50, having enough passive income to travel the world)
  • Favorite blogs, books and personalities they trust (the other experts and “gurus” in your space offering up advice)
  • Pains, frustrations, fears, problems and anxieties of your prospects (what keeps them up at night, what makes them sick to their stomach and what’s potentially going to hold them back)

Once you understand these elements of your prospects, you can come up with a killer marketing message. If you can come up with hundreds of pains and problems of your prospects, you can likewise produce hundreds of ads that tap into their pains and desires.
